My name is Areiel Wolanow.  I am a California native who has been living and working in the UK since 2003.  I joined IBM in 2004 and have been working in their Global Business Services practice since then.

I live on the west coast of England with my amazing family, and when I am not working or sharing their company, I enjoy photography, hiking, cooking, and old movies.

And what about FigBash?  FigBash is my nickname, and how my friends refer to me.  The name comes from a character in wickedly silly novel by the great illustrator Edward Gorey, published in 1987, called “The Raging Tide, Or The Black Doll’s Imbroglio.”

The icon you see imposed over the banner is Gorey’s drawing of FigBash.  It is used without permission, but with great love and reverence.
